The experience

By taking part in this project you will be able to collaborate with your creativity in painting, decorating, gardening and maintaining the Pousada de Juventude de Beja, both indoors and outdoors.

We are convinced that the result of your collaboration will translate into a more pleasant, fresh and renewed image of the Pousada for all customers. Another part of the voluntary work consists of collaborating with the activities of the Beja Support Group of the Portuguese League Against Cancer, in particular helping in the design and production of handcrafted products in the sewing workshop, with the aim of reverting in the fundraising for the association.

About the host

Beja has several points of interest for those of you that like history, culture and tradition!

Not only in the narrow streets, but also in monuments of the old town, they breathe history and offer a special charm to visitors! Visit the historic towns and explore the countless routes the Baixo Alentejo (Lower Alentejo) go on the many tours that the Lower Alentejo presents you.

But Beja is not only history! The gastronomy is one of the region’s calling cards. You’ll confirm it yourself, by trying the local cuisine.

Soar the treetops in a hot air balloon, and gaze peacefully down on the plains, it’s an opportunity not to be missed. Once your feet are on the ground, find a way of going to Mértola, Monsaraz, and Serpa.

And why not Canoe down the Guadiana River and get in touch with the Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana (Guadiana Valley Natural Park)?

The best is to come for a few days, enjoying things in your own time and at your leisure. After all, this is a very peaceful piece of earth...
