We want to recruit volunteers with a strong environmental and human awareness to help us develop and make our guests and local community aware of the need for a strong environmental balance, reducing risk factors and the ecological footprint, from a sustainability perspective.
Solidarity and human awareness in order to participate and help APPACDM users, people with mental illness, to interact with the environment and to awaken interest in nature.
Take care of our garden, involving our local community and guests, through a partnership with APPACDM Monte de Caparica Soluções Ecológicas.
The Almada Youth Hostel has one of the most spectactular views in the country. Located on the Southern banks of the Tagus River (Lisbon South Bay), adjacent to the 25 April Bridge, you have the opportunity to take in a panoramic view of the whole of Lisbon, while you calmly sip on a coffee or relax and unwind curled up with a good book.
Flit over to Lisbon in the blink of an eye, by train, bus, ferry, or by car. Get familiar with Lisbon’s lively, pumping nightlife, roaming around the Docas de Alcântara (Alcântara Docks), exploring the eclectic mix of bars, clubs, and restaurants favoured by Lisbon’s nighe owls on Avenida 24 de Julho, or simply bar-hopping up and down the narrow, cobbled lanes of Lisbon’s Bohemian Bairro Alto.
You also have Costa da Caparica, just a stone’s throw away, where you can surf good waves or quench your thirst savouring on a refreshing cocktail on the seafront.
Almada offers much more than a relaxing visit, throughout the year, there are all sorts of events from concerts to ehibitions, nature trips to adrenaline inducing extreme sports. Almada is your Oyster!
At the end of the day, get your friends moving, and have a 5-aside game on the Hostel’s football/soccer field!
