Almograve, praia e petiscos
Located in the South West Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Nature Park is the coastal village of Almograve. It is an area of hidden beaches among cliffs. The local restaurants and bars are known for their fish, seafood and great snacks.
Something obvious is that you have the Almograve Beach just 800 m from the Hostel. But we encourage you to go further and take a tour of the main local beaches. Take the car, head north and start at the Malhão Beach. Go through the Portinho do Canal, a small fishing port, and continues south to Vila Nova de Mil Fontes, where the beaches are located at the mouth of the River Mira.
Further south, you have other beaches such as the Furnas Beach or the Brejo Largo Beach. Be careful with the dirt and sandy roads... don't get stuck!
Back in Almograve, ditch the car and go for a walk or a bike ride to the Lapa das Pombas Port. By car, don't forget to go to the Sardão Cape Lighthouse. The sea view is spectacular and the cliffs have a unique geometry due to the different rocky layers.
It's time to eat! The restaurants have great snacks such as gooseneck barnacles and clams, and grilled fish, such as sea bream or sardines. At night, Vila Nova de Mil Fontes is lively, with several bars where you can listen to good music and have a good time.
