Oeiras, praia e desporto
Here, you can easily find a beach where to spend your day at. It’s in this municipality that you have promenades and the National Stadium Park to practice various sports activities.
From the Hostel terraces, you have an extraordinary view over the Tagus estuary. Take a walk along the promenade towards the Marquês de Pombal Palace. You can visit the Wine cellar where Carcavelos wine is preserved. Take a walk through the gardens and pay a quick visit to the Mother Church, in the village centre.
If you’d rather play sports, spend part of your morning at the National Stadium Park. Here, you have swimming pools, tennis courts, canoeing, football pitches, mini-golf and jogging circuits. If you want a good place to eat a grilled fish, head to Algés. There are several restaurants between Anjos Palace and the train station.
Get ready for a good afternoon at the beach. Very close to the Hostel is the Sto. Amaro and Praia da Torre beaches, the latter with calmer waters. If you want a beach with open sea and extensive sand, you must choose Carcavelos Beach. Here, you can practice Surf, Bodyboard and Beach Football and Volleyball.
At night, enjoy the Oeiras Marina or go to Fábrica da Pólvora, where bars usually have concerts with live music. If you want to watch a film, the Oeiras Shopping Centre is close by. You are one step away from Lisbon, Estoril and Cascais, so you have plenty of options to choose from!
