Vila Nova de Cerveira, arte e natureza
Cerveira is called ‘Village of Arts’, internationally recognised for its Biennale and for displaying works and hosting exhibitions by the best contemporary international artists. On the other side of the River Minho is neighbouring Spain.
This location awakens the best of our imagination. Start the morning by taking the Arts Tour to get to know the installations and artistic sculptures scattered across the village. At the same time, also take the opportunity to observe the monumental heritage.
Leave the Hostel towards the Castle, passing by the City Hall and Largo do Terreiro. Follow the river bank until you reach the Biennial Museum. This repository of Portuguese and international contemporary art from the last three decades has a collection of over 400 works.
In the afternoon, you can plan a Kayak tour on the River Minho, play Mini Golf at the Castelinho Leisure Park or ride a bike on the Rio Minho Ecopista. The village has good restaurants and pizzerias where you can have dinner.
In the summer, don't miss out on the great Vilar de Mouros and Paredes de Coura music festivals. The best international rock artists and bands come here.
